Located in the Canadian territory of Nunavut, Baffin Island is the largest island in the Canadian Arctic and the fifth largest island in the world. This great wilderness area offers guests a mix of dramatic scenery, rich Inuit culture, wildlife encounters and historical elements. Visit remote Inuit communities such as Pangnirtung (“Pang”) or Pond Inlet with spectacular mountain backdrops and learn how local artists preserve their culture through art and dance. It is a great location for wildlife with chances for polar bears, bowhead & beluga whales, seals and birds. On the rare occasion, narwhals may also be seen around the floe edge near the Lancaster Sound. September voyages may have the chance to see the northern lights.
Baffin Island is accessible via charter flight from Canadian gateways or from West Greenland via Iceland.
